his month as part of the Small Steps for BIG MOVES his month as part of the Small Steps for BIG MOVES campaign we’re focusing on going by bike. Are you considering biking more? Here’s what Dave has to say:
My name is Dave Heighway and I’ve been riding my bike year round in Whistler for about 10 years. I work for an e-bike company; you could say I’m an advocate for biking! One of the most amazing things about Whistler is the Valley Trail system that makes it fast, easy and safe to go everywhere by bike or e-bike; it’s even mostly plowed in the winter (use studs!). Riding instead of driving is totally doable for lots of folks in this town. Get fit, have fun and reduce emissions!
Tune in later this week for Dave Heighway’s top tips on this month’s climate action. 🚲

BC saved 418,000 kgs of GHGs last year through usi BC saved 418,000 kgs of GHGs last year through using human powered transport instead of fossil fuels

Personal vehicles are by far Whistler’s largest source of GHG emissions, accounting for 54% of Whistler’s total emissions.

If we are going to make a difference in GHG's here in Whistler we need to cut down on our personal vehicle travel- using bikes has lots of benefits! Get fit, have fun, and make a difference! If we all did half of our trips on human or electric power, we would be reaching our 2030 target!

Show your support for climate action, register for GoByBike, and reduce your environmental footprint
