Active Committees:

AWARE Fundraising Committee (Ongoing Committee)

This committee was created to evaluate and work towards a future where AWARE becomes a financially self-sustaining non-profit with reduced reliance on grant funding. Tasks would include but would not be limited to:

  • Evaluate fundraising opportunities (against various criteria) in achieving AWARE’s financial goals
  • Opportunities include but are not limited to membership, events, grants, sponsorships, ongoing/ad hoc activities, knowledge/product offerings.
  • Identify short, medium and long-term targets inclusive of sub-goals to track performance
  • Meeting regularly to evaluate fundraising opportunities and monitor performance against targets.

We are always searching for new and exciting fundraising ideas!

AWARE Projects Advisory Committee (Ongoing Committee)

This committee was created to evaluate and work towards successful delivery of a suite of projects that are strategically aligned with AWARE’s mandate.  Tasks would include but would not be limited to:

  • Evaluation of existing and new project ideas against predetermined criteria
  • Identification of gaps in project offerings or as needed within the community
  • Maintenance of a shortlist of drafted projects to move forward and get funded
  • Meeting regularly to oversee the delivery of funded projects
  • Taking responsibility for specific task relating to individual projects
  • Acting as an ambassador for AWARE projects in the community
  • Strategically evaluate future project development
