From Circular Economy initiatives, to pitching in to clean up the community to coming to learn something new about the local environment, Earth Week 2026 had it all. Here are a few numbers that we are proud of, none possible without the support and partiicpation from the Whistler community and partners.
Repair Café
- 63 items fixed
- Including: 37 items of clothing, 14 pieces of jewellery, 3 electrical items, 8 outdoor items, 5 miscellaneous (such as dog harness and baby bag and one coffee machine from 1984!
Clothing Swap
- 206 kgs of clothing was swapped and rehomed with over 100 participants
- That’s 72% remaining in our circular economy
- 16% of remaining sellable clothes were donated to Whistler Community Services Society
Pitch In Day
- Over 1,200 kgs of litter picked across Whistler on this day
- A team of 15 AWARE volunteers took to the White Gold and Nesters area to collect rubbish, including some of our Young Voices Big Impact participants plus volunteers from the team at ZipTrek amongst others joined us
- 92% waste to landfill diversion rate at the volunteer BBQ station with our Zero Waste Heroes
Our Power Our Planet Evening with Dr Tonya Smith & Jordon Gabriel
- We hosted over 75 guests for our highlight educational evening with local experts for a night of discovery about cultural burns and the positive impacts they can have on the local ecosystems
Yoga for the Environment
- A class during Earth Week for those to reflect and take some time to appreciate and celebrate the beautiful natural world we are so lucky to live in. Hosted at Yogacara and led by Emily Kane, with all class proceeds going to AWARE
Earth Month Raffle
- 3 Grand Prizes
- 3 lucky winners
- Over $4500 dollars worth in prizes!
- We hit +$3500 in fundraising through raffle ticket sales which was 70% of our fundraising goal, if you would like to continue to help us reach this goal you can donate here
