I, like many others in the Sea to Sky, am a lucky transplant and settler in this place we call home.  The journey here was not straight, I received a BA in linguistics in California then spent 14 years teaching outdoor education in California, Colorado, Utah, Alaska, and Australia before I finally landed in BC in 2018.  I came up here to complete an MA in environmental education and communication at Royal Roads University; I stayed for the people, the community, and the nature!  I now live on a farm I call Nurture in Nature Community Farm out Pemberton Meadows Road, and this place is taking me on a new road of learning to homestead as a part of minimizing my own environmental footprint.

Homesteading reduces my personal effect on our atmosphere through reducing how much food is shipped to and from my plate.  However, I am most excited to share this story, and other stories of success, so that we can all learn to take necessary small steps together to leave this Earth suitable for generations to come.  This passion of mine to spread stories of positivity and the impacts we can make have lead me to AWARE Whistler, where I am stoked to be able to work as the community engagement manager with such a great community.
