AWARE’s bi-annual Clothing Swap encourages community members to engage in sustainable fashion practices by swapping instead of shopping. This event highlights the environmental benefits of reducing waste and lowering the demand for new resources, which helps decrease the overall environmental footprint associated with the fashion industry. Participants will refresh their wardrobes and contribute to a culture of recycling and sustainability.

Ask from Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS)
These Circular Economy initiatives at their core are designed to ensure as much remains out of landfill as possible, and we are grateful to work closely with Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) and the Re-Use It Centre who collect the remaining donations that are either unsold at the end of these events. What is crucial is that this service is not taken advantage of and that all items either brought to the clothing swap or the garage sale are in a condition that could be sold on by the Re-use It centre at a later date. For clothing this means no stains, holes or damaged items. For anything else, it must be in working or sellable condition. Thank you for your support in continuing our Circular Economy here in Whistler.
The Clothing Swap, organized and hosted by AWARE, is made possible through the generous support of our sponsor, the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Their backing aligns with Whistler’s Climate Action BIG MOVES Strategy: “Big Move 6: Close the loop and shift toward lower carbon consumption.”
We also extend our gratitude to Nita Lake Lodge for their donation of the Nita Room for the Spring Clothing Swap, which makes this event possible. Happy Hour at their Lakeside Lounge will be available 8 PM – 10 PM.
